Meeting/Event Information
Spring Membership Meeting
Meeting Purpose
-
Full day joint meetings conducted by the Maryland State Department of Education’s Division of Career and College Readiness staff, the specific number of which are determined annually through collaborative planning by the President and the Assistant State Superintendent for Career and College Readiness. The agendas further MSDE’s exempt purpose through professional development for MCTA members related to preparing students for careers and postsecondary education and the requirements of federal and/or state government education mandates. These meetings prepare MCTA members to develop and administer the delivery of viable CTE programs. These meetings are led by administrative personnel from the Maryland State Department of Education and are held at colleges and school system facilities around the state.
-
Two half-day MCTA membership meetings conducted by the MCTA officers annually during the school year to focus on MCTA’s annual career and technical education (CTE) priorities, needs, and issues, as well as professional development presentations on best and promising practices in education. These meetings further the exempt purpose by providing a venue for membership to solve practical educational problems among their MCTA colleagues which can be translated into more effective CTE program delivery in their local school systems. These meetings are held virtually using Google Meet or are hosted at by a local school district. (2 days annually (Fall / Spring))
